The Language of Liberty Institute organized an open discussion titled “Breaking Barriers: How Freedom Drives Innovation” to highlight the importance of liberty in fostering creativity, entrepreneurship, and social progress. The event aimed to create a safe and informal space where young people could freely express their views, think critically, and engage in meaningful dialogue on how freedom of thought, expression, and economic choice contribute to innovation.

The discussion was attended by 21 participants from Chitwan district of Bagmati Province, including students, youth leaders, and aspiring entrepreneurs, with representation from both male and female participants. The session began with a welcome and participant introductions, followed by an overview of the Language of Liberty Institute and the purpose of the liberty chitchat, presented by the Provincial Ambassador.

Participants actively discussed the meaning of freedom and innovation, the role of economic and social liberty, and the impact of over-regulation and policy uncertainty on creativity and entrepreneurship. Key issues such as youth migration, fear of failure, bureaucracy, and limited opportunities were explored, alongside broader discussions on global economic examples and their relevance to Nepal. The interactive and open-floor format encouraged inclusive participation, respectful dialogue, and the sharing of personal experiences.

Overall, the event strengthened participants’ understanding of the link between freedom and innovation, encouraged confident expression of ideas, increased awareness of economic and policy barriers affecting innovation in Nepal, and helped build a network of youth committed to promoting liberty-based dialogue and innovation.
